If you are looking for a new mattress, there is a high chance you’ll get overwhelmed. There are so many great options to choose from. You’ll get confused by questions like, “Do I need to buy the premium or highly expensive mattress to get better sleep?” “Does memory foam leaves a person feeling hot all night?” “Is a soft mattress good for my back pain?” “Which mattress is better – Serta or Beautyrest?” Smart Mattress Buy will clear all your confusion and help you find the most suitable mattress for the best sleep experience.
Serta is one of our favorite names in the mattress industry. They are committed to providing comfortable sleep for almost 100 years. Serta mattresses come in different firmness ranges, from extra firm to very soft. Decide the best-suited Serta mattress as per your personal preference. Many sleepers opt for the hybrid products of Serta, such as Fusion. These mattresses are a combination of cooling foam and state-of-the-art steel coils. The solid and durable coils of these mattresses offer maximum support during sleep. Serta provides all the perks in one bed- cooling technology, comprehensive support, and contouring comfort.
Beautyrest mattresses are created, designed, and tested in the USA. Beautyrest offers a massive range of mattresses and is one of the best brands. In 1900 they patented the Pocketed Coil spring machine, and since then, this mattress company has focused on innovation. Even after a century, they are committed to employing the latest technologies to help their clients get the best sleep possible. Temperature plays an important role in sleep comfort. This is why Beautyrest incorporates a wide variety and different combinations of materials in their mattresses so that you get a night of better sleep. All mattresses from this brand have some form of cooling technology.
5 Key Comparisons Between Serta and Beautyrest
Both Beautyrest and Serta mattresses are very popular, but for different reasons. The beds are manufactured using different materials, so it finally comes down to your preference.
1. Construction of Beautyrest and Serta
The Beautyrest and Serta mattresses are constructed differently. The Serta is an all-foam mattress while the Beautyrest is a hybrid bed, which means it contains both coils and foam.
The Serta is an all-foam mattress made up of three distinct layers:
Support foam — These mattresses have an all-foam core base.
Memory foam — The middle layer is constructed with 3 inches thick EverCool Supreme Memory Foam.
Gel foam — The mattress’s top layer has one inch of TempActiv Max Gel Memory Foam which acts as the comfort level.
While the Serta is an all-foam mattress, the Beautyrest is a hybrid mattress consisting of coils and foam both. Given below is a general breakdown of the layers inside the Beautyrest hybrid beds:
The base layer — The bottom layer or the foundation of the bed consists of proprietary pocketed coils designed to be resilient and supportive.
Center layer — On top of the coils lies a half-inch thick layer of responsive foam. This acts as a transition layer between the firmer coils and softer foam.
Top layer — The top layer of the Beautyrest bed consists of one-inch layer of proprietary memory foam. It makes the bed cooler and more responsive than other memory foam mattresses. Above that lies a three-inch layer of AirCool Gel memory foam. It makes this mattress cooler than standard memory foam and, at the same time, provides pressure relief.
Along with its three layers, the Beautyrest mattress also integrates a column of dense foam around the perimeter to offer edge support.
2. Body Type
Beautyrest is for heavy sleepers who weigh over 230 lbs, as this offers more durability and support system. Serta being an all-foam mattress, allows the sleeper with the best contouring facility. If you are looking for a more durable, supportive mattress, you might prefer Beautyrest. We think you’d get more of your money’s worth out of it.
3. Feel & Firmness
Beautyrest is a combination of coils and foam, which makes the mattress provide a nice balance between comfort and support. When you buy a mattress, you get to decide whether you want a soft or firm bed. The Plush model offers a medium-soft to medium feel. The Luxury Firm offers a medium firm.
The Serta also comes with two firmness options. The Plush model gives medium firmness feel, while the cushion firm offers a medium firm to firm feel. Both beds are manufactured using a dense memory foam feel. Serta gives the feeling of many memory foam beds. You sink into the bed and feel a bit stuck inside the mattress.
4. Edge Support
The dense foam column around the perimeter of the Beautyrest mattress offers excellent edge support. You can sleep right on the edge without dreading falling off the bed during sleep. The edge support on the Serta fails to match Beautyrest’s. Even Serta gives decent edge support, but it is not as solid as Beautyrest.
5. Motion Isolation
All memory foam beds provide excellent motion isolation, and the Serta is no exception. Even though the Beautyrest bed has coils at the base, the mattress isolates movement quite well. Irrespective of your mattress choice, don’t worry about getting disturbed by your partner moving around during sleep. Both mattresses are an excellent choice as far as motion isolation is concerned.
The Serta and Beautyrest mattresses are very similar in their construction and feel. Both claim to have cooling technology and materials. However, in both mattresses, we find the temperature to be neutral. Even though they won’t heat you up during the night, but then neither of the two helps you stay cool. Overall, the mattresses are a good choice for comfort and a good night’s sleep. Still, if you wish to know more, do drop us a few lines, the Smart Mattress Buy team would be happy to help.
