• Winkbed Mattress is a hybrid model that comes in four firmness options: softer, luxury firm, firmer, and plus. The softer version has a medium soft feel with a 4 on the 10 points firmness scale. The luxury firm is rated 6 and is considered a medium firm. The firmer option and Plus are rated as 7 and 8, respectively, giving a truly firm feel.
• The softer, Luxury Firm and firmer options contain polyfoam and pocketed coils. The Plus version of Winkbed Mattress contains polyfoam, latex, and a pocketed coil core. Each Winkbed Mattress has a Tencel® cover which is derived from eucalyptus and wick away excessive heat. The Softer, Luxury Firm and Firm versions have gel-infused memory foam, which contours to the sleeper’s body to relieve pressure points.
• It has a polyfoam transitional layer that provides extra cushioning while reinforcing the body to prevent sinkage. The Plus option uses a layer of 1.8 pounds per cubic foot polyfoam, making it more durable. It includes a 2.5-inch layer of latex for deeper contouring, extra bounce, and airflow. The zoned, pocketed coil system in each of the options promotes proper spinal alignment.

The Winkbed mattress provides deep contouring to help the sleeper enjoy pressure relief and the support of the pocketed zoned coils. It offers them targeted support and optimum sinkage, which doesn’t let the sleeper have an uncomfortable night (We know, nobody likes tossing and turning on the bed in pain, even after you pay a good sum!) The Firm, Luxury firm and Softer variants of the mattress have a pillow top and encased coils which help relieve pressure from the sleepers body, cradle at the right places and offer a cool sleep. The Plus variant has a layer of polyfoam and latex, which helps spread the sleepers weight uniformly across the mattress and relieves pressure. Since they are all hybrid mattresses and have a layer infused with gel, the mattress doesn’t trap body heat and allows for air circulation throughout the mattress.

Motion Isolation and Sharing a Bed

Though these are hybrid mattress and use coils in the base/support layer, but the motion transfer felt across the soft, luxury firm and firm mattresses is virtually negligible. The mattress tends to absorb motion and helps reducing the sensation of movement, across the other side of the mattress. The best performer tag here goes to the Soft variant whereas the Plus size mattress also absorbs motion transfer, but not as good as the former one. Couples should definitely be mindful when planning to buy a mattress and keep in mind the above stated experience.

Edge Support

The Winkbed mattress comes with a reinforced coil system, which helps provide feeling of stability and safety to the sleeper. The mattress neither collapses nor makes you roll off near the edge. Though, the softer version might crumple down a bit when one is sitting but that would be it. All Winkbed mattresses offer decent amount of edge support in comparison to a lot of hybrid mattresses available in town.

Recommendation based on sleeping style

• Side sleeper:  Though there are different variants of the mattress to cater to the needs of the people, but some variants are more suitable for certain people than others. The softer mattress is an ideal mattress for light weight side sleepers (<130 lbs); luxury firm caters to nearly all types of sleepers, but is an ideal choice for average weight sleepers (130-230 lbs), whereas, the firm and plus variants are a good choice for anyone who weighs above 230 lbs, to let them enjoy optimum pressure relief on their sides.
• Back sleeper:  Heavier weight people, i.e. who weigh more than 230 lbs, shall find comfort while sleeping on their back on either the Firm or the Plus variant. Average weight people, i.e. between 130-230 lbs shall find the Luxury firm catering best to their needs, as they won’t experience excessive sinkage and their body shall remain in perfect alignment. Light weight people (<130 lbs) shall opt for the softer version, since it is plush and would offer the perfect contouring and support, they are looking for.
• Stomach sleeper:  In general, people tend to carry a lot of weight around their mid-section and they need a mattress which offers them optimum support near that section and also offers healthy spinal alignment. All the Wink mattresses come with a zoned support coil system, which supports the lower body of the sleeper, while sleeping. Light weight stomach sleepers (<130 lbs) shall opt for the softer version, the average or heavier weight people might prefer options from Luxury firm to Plus, depending upon their personal requirements.
