Firmness

Mattress Firmness

When you lay down on a mattress, it feels either soft or firm. That’s what we call mattress firmness. Everybody likes their mattress to feel a certain way; some like it soft, while others prefer it firm.

To make things easier, the mattress industry uses a “firmness rating system.” It’s a scale that goes from 1 to 10. 1 being soft, and 10 feels firm to give you more support and less sinkage.

So, that scale helps you pick a suitable mattress based on how you like it to feel.

In this mattress review, let’s talk about how Helix Twilight Mattress feels!

Firmness of Helix Twilight Mattress

Helix Twilight mattress is firm and rated 8 to 9 out of 10 on the firmness scale. What makes it so sturdy is the layers it’s made of. There’s this copper gel memory foam that’s firm and supportive, along with layers of responsive foam. Beneath all that, you’ve got around 1000 steel coils individually wrapped up for extra support.

In the Elite version, the dual microcoil layers provide that extra support. Luxe mattress has targeted zoned lumbar support, while Elite Mattress has a best-in-class zoned coil support system. These are designed to support different parts of your body in specific ways.

Material & Construction

Q1. What are the unique technology, design, and materials used in the construction of Helix Twilight Mattress?

So, what’s in these mattresses? All models of Helix Twilight mattresses are hybrid mattresses that combine foam and coils. Helix Twilight, Twilight Luxe, and Twilight Elite mattresses are made with different materials.

In this mattress review, I’ll explain how they’re put together in a way that’s easy to understand.

Helix Twilight Mattress

1. Cover

Helix Twilight mattress features a Breathe Knit Coverthat helps air flow through while you sleep. If you want even more comfort and cooling, you can switch to GlacioTex™ Cooling Pillow Top. It adds an extra layer of coziness and uses high-tech cooling fabric to keep you cooler at night.

2. Comfort Layer

Under the cover of Helix Twilight Mattress, there’s this comfort layer. It’s made of two types of foam: Copper Gel Memory Foam and Helix Responsive Foam. The Copper Gel Memory Foam is dense and great for pressure reliefand comfort. It feels pretty firm.

Then there’s the Helix Responsive Foam. It’s firm, and it’s made to hug your body and give you the good support and comfort possible.

3. Transition Layer

In the middle part of the mattress, there’s this layer made of another row of Helix Responsive Foam. This foam helps support your body and gives a little softness, too.

4. Body Shape Layer

Let’s talk about the body shape layer of Helix Twilight Mattress. It’s got up to 1000 coils that are wrapped individually. These coils are great at motion isolation. Also, they’re strong around the edges, so you get good support on the sides of the mattress.

5. Base Layer

Underneath this mattress, there’s this layer called DuraDense Foam. It’s like thefoundation of the mattress. It makes sure the mattress lasts a long time and gives good support.

Helix Twilight Luxe Mattress

1. Cover

Helix Twilight Luxe has a quilted pillow top. You can pick between a breathable TENCEL™ Cover or a cooling GlacioTex™ Cover for cool and comfort.

3. Transition Layer

In Helix Twilight Luxe, the transition layer is made of the same Helix Responsive foam they use in the regular Helix Twilight Mattress.

4. Zoned Body Shape Layer

Here, we’ve got over 1,000 coils in these mattresses. They’re set up to give you extra support in your lumbar region and ease the pressure on your shoulders and feet.

The last part of the mattress has DuraDense Foam, which is the same as what you find in the regular one.

Helix Twilight Elite Mattress

Helix Twilight Elite Mattress has a GlacioTex™ Elite fabric cover. Its pillow top is made of soft foam, and it has a built-in fabric called GlacioTex™ Elite. What it does is it helps to keep things cool, so you don’t get too hot while you sleep. That means you can stay comfortable and relaxed all through the night without feeling too warm.

2. Comfort Layer

Helix Twilight Elite mattress has a two-part design. The comfort layers are made of Copper Gel Memory Foam on the top and two layers of microcoils.

The top layer uses a high-quality Copper Gel Memory Foam to give you good pressure relief and comfort. It’s firm but cozy.

Inside, there are these small steel coils nestled between two layers of high-density foam. They hug your body, making sure you feel comfy, ease pressure points, and keep your spine aligned.

The second layer of micro steel coils gives extra durable comfort, especially at your shoulders and hips. It’s all about making sure you feel great when you sleep!

3. Support Layer

The support layer of the mattress is made of two types of foam: Helix Dynamic Foam and Memory Plus Foam.

The Dynamic Foam sits right under the top layer of steel microcoil. This gives the mattress a solid yet comfy feel and supports your body while you sleep.

Underneath the second layer of microcoil, there’s the Memory Plus Foam. This dense memory foam adds extra support to the mattress, which is especially good for side sleepers or anyone who tosses and turns during the night. It helps relieve pressure and keeps things durable.

4. Transition Layer

This layer of Twilight Elite mattress is made from Helix Responsive Foam. It’s right on top of the support base that makes sure those coils below last long and help take off the pressure from your body.

5. Support Base

At the bottom, the strong base features 8-inches of top-quality steel coils. These coils support your back and edges while you sleep. They’re really sturdy and can handle any body size comfortably.

6. Base Layer

Down at the bottom, there is a layer of DuraDense Foam. It’s the same material they use in the regular model. This foam hugs the bottom of the mattress and gives more support to those strong steel coils. It makes the whole mattress feel comfortable and deluxe.
